Building a Digital Community Through Content Strategy and Event Engagement

Story

The rapid digitalisation has catapulted some challenges, particularly in the Social Service Sector. There are at least three major drawbacks that Social Service Agencies are experiencing: the demand to keep up with the fast-changing digital trend, the rise of cybersecurity threats, and the limited resource to fully integrate digital technology into the management.

Despite these challenges, digital transformation can bring limitless opportunities to help Social Service Agencies grow their resources, improve communication and organisation’s efficiency.

To provide resources and knowledge of best-practices, our agency was tasked by Social Service Institute (part of National Council of Social Service) to develop the #GoDigitalForGood platform — a digital community to help the Social Service Sector embark on the digital transformation journey.

The community is aimed to help social service professionals to dive deep into the topic of digitalisation, connect with like-minded individuals, and learn from industry experts and professionals.

Approach and Scope of Work

To boost the engagement within the community, our agency came up with two main initiatives: developing a
content strategy and conducting webinars featuring experts across the Social Service and Corporate Sectors.

Curriculum and Content Planning​

We structured the webinar and content curriculum into three main topics: Introduction to Digital Transformation in the Social Service Sectors, Build Resilience in the Social Service Sector Using Data Analytics, and Elevate Digital Presence of Social Service Agencies through Digital Branding. Based on this curriculum, we then planned and structured our content strategy.

Increase Engagement through Virtual Event​

To provide support for the professionals in the community, we then conducted two panel discussions and a webinar by inviting experts from Social Service and Corporate sectors to share their knowledge and insights regarding the digitalisation topics.

Impact

Our work has led to the 115% increase of total members and 15% of average engagement rate across the #GoDigitalForGood community within 9 months.

With the initial objective to help and support Social Service professionals to embark on the digital transformation journey, it is also crucial for us to rally more people from the Social Service and Non-Profit sectors to join and engage with the community.

The combination of event engagement and content strategy has led to the 115% increase of total members and 15% of average engagement rate across the #GoDigitalForGood platform.

Resources created within the community has helped Social Service Agencies and Non-profit Organisations grow their capabilities and improve organisation’s efficiency—both important ingredients to adapt and thrive in the digital age.
